Mother’s Day Art Idea

My daughter had a friend over today and it was TOO HOT to play outside so we opted for some indoor fun! Any and all of these would make great Mother’s Day gifts for moms, grandmothers or any other mother-like figure. If I was still teaching kindergarten, I would definitely be doing this with my students!

All you need is some watercolor paper (if you use thin paper, it will curl up or tear), a black Sharpie and bleeding tissue paper. Make sure you don’t use gift wrapping tissue paper—-it will not work!

Just have your kiddo(s) draw with Sharpie on the watercolor paper. Cut the tissue paper into one inch squares. Arrange the tissue squares on the drawing and then use a paint brush with water to wet the tissue paper. The tissue should be completely wet so that the color bleeds onto your drawing. Allow to dry for a bit and then peel the tissue paper off.

Viola! So easy! So fun! So cute!
