FEBRUARY BOOK CLUB CHAT!

This month I chose The Authenticity Project by Clare Pooley, and before I get into my review/thoughts, I have some questions for you.

1) Who was your favorite character and who do you wish you had heard more from?

2) There was a quote toward the end of the book that was referring to a possible relationship where the 2 people were very different. It said, “And that’s a good thing. You’ll learn from each other. You don’t want to spend the rest of your life just looking into a mirror.” Do you agree?

3) Were you #teamriley or #teamhazard or #teamneither ???

4) What did you think of Julian’s deciet?

Okay, so this book was very different than I expected but I still liked it. At the beginning of the book we are introduced to Julian, a lonely former artist who has almost no social interaction. He leaves a notebook at the local coffee shop (owned by Monica) with a confession of sorts about his own life and what it has become. He urges whoever finds the journal to also write his/her own truth and then leave if for the someone else to find. I liked how we were introduced to different characters throughout the book as the journal was passed on. I loved how each person to read the journal genuinely wanted to help another person (although that may be less than realistic) and I LOVED how the book found new hands in the epilogue. My biggest disappointment was Alice/Max and I hope they don’t give up that easily in the end. What did you think???? Discuss below!

To spread the love of books, I will gift TWO copies of next month’s book. Just comment here and/or on @sarahtakesabreather on Instagram so that I know you are following and interested! I’ll randomly choose winners during the first few days of each month.
