April!!!! I have 4 books to share with you this month. This group of books is pretty light and easy to devour. Any of these could be your next beach read!

Life’s too Short by Abby Jiminez- I have been anxiously waiting for the past 6 months for the third book in this series to be released! I enjoyed The Friend Zone and The Happy Ever After Playlist (my favorite of the 3) so was looking forward to this one! It isn’t necessary to read them in order, but they do have some overlap in characters so it’s fun to know who is being referenced.
Warning—This book talks about ALS and feelings/emotions of people dealing with the disease as well as their families. Just a heads up in case ALS in near to you.
Life’s too Short is about Vanessa, a wildly popular vlogger that saves only enough money to get by conservatively, help her family and drink wine. The rest she donates to ALS research. She has had an adventurous few years just going wherever the wind blows her until she ends up caring for her sister’s baby which is not conducive to that lifestyle. She runs into her neighbor, Adrian, who is the all-work-no-play type. They instantly develop a friendship which is “safe” since neither of them want a relationship. Riiiight…. ;)
It’s a great read! The characters are lovable and I enjoyed getting to know them.
My one criticism is that there was this analogy about “looking at the sun” that I loved the first time it was explained, but my goodness was it overused!?!
Favorite Quote— “I don’t pretend to be happy. I just refuse to be sad."

The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory was another easy, stress-free read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Alexa and Drew meet when they get stuck in an elevator on the night before his buddy’s rehearsal dinner. Drew’s date backed out last-minute, so on a whim he asks Alexa to go with him. Alexa is trying to get out of a dating funk so agrees to go knowing that Drew doesn’t even live in town so this can be a fun way to get out there with no expectations of a relationship afterward. Except…they hit it off!!! Here again, I must say that there are some intimate scenes, so be aware. This romance was interracial and I loved the way the couple dealt with the topics of racism, insecurities and perspective. And BONUS—This is book 1 of 5, so we have 4 more to look forward to!

Get A Life Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert- Chloe is a single woman who is tired of putting her life on the back burner and her health (and anxieties that go along with her chronic illness) on the front. She decides to write a bucket list of sorts to spice up her life. In walks her neighbor, who she outwardly despises but is actually infatuated with, who she enlists to help her check a few of those items off her list. I loved the banter between the two and their relationship was fun to cheer for. Grab it for your next vacation or beach/poolside read!
*Note— There were a couple of times that he called her “woman” which bothered me so I just wanted to throw that out there. Also, there are some R-rated scenes, so be advised!
Favorite Quote “After all, when it comes to love, it isn’t a person’s flaws we’re looking at, now is it?”

Only When It’s Us by Chloe Liese- This one had me thinking back to Someday Maybe and The Hating Game, both of which I loved, so that was a good sign.
We first meet Willa who is a college soccer star who is trying her best to make the grades. She is a petite, strong and independent with a short fuse (in an endearing way). Ryder is her opposite…big, quite and standoffish. The two share a business class together which begins their frenemy relationship. Through their pranks and banter we witness their relationship begin to grow and change, but they are both keeping secrets….life changing secrets.
Read it! It’s fun and easy breezy.
*Note—Be aware of the intimate scenes again. They don’t bother me but are worth a mention in case they do for you.
